Festival in Your Area
The Festival kicks off on February 2nd 2009 with a presentation ceremony for the AONTAS STAR awards to take place at Dublin Castle. The ceremony will be opened by Sean Haughey, TD and Minister for Lifelong Learning.
Events are being organised all around the country, and we will post details of those events later this year.
Getting Involved
If you are involved in community or adult education, why not organise an event during the festival? You will get publicity for your group’s activities, help to raise awareness about the value of adult learning, and be part of a national event which celebrates the achievements of adult learners all around the country.
For ideas on events or activities that you can run, have a look here at the festival media resource booklet here, or get some ideas from the special Festival edition of Explore magazine. Contact your Festival Local Link and let them know that you are organising an event, they may be able to help you promote it locally. To find out who is the local link in your area, click here.
In the lead up to the festival AONTAS will be running an extensive promotional campaign, so make sure to let us know what you have planned. Email us at mail@aontas.com or phone us on 01 406 8220
We will include details about your event, and send you out posters and other publicity material for your event.
