Festival in Your Area
Getting Involved-Find out what's happening in your area!
If you are involved in community or adult education, why not organise an event during the festival? You will get publicity for your group’s activities, help to raise awareness about the value of adult learning, and be part of a national event which celebrates the achievements of adult learners all around the country.
For ideas on events or activities that you can run, have a look here at the festival media resource booklet here, or get some ideas from the special Festival edition of Explore magazine.
Local Contacts
Have you run an event before? Given that those working in the adult and community education sector are already under pressure to meet increased demand with limited resources, we understand that the position of Local Link may not be realistic for the 2010 festival. However, given your past involvement in the festival to date, we are asking former local links and event organisers if they are willing to act as local contacts in the lead up to next year's Festival.
A local contact is a former local link or event organiser willing to share their personal knowledge and expertise with new event organizers in your area. Your contact details (email address and work contact number) will be available on the festival website www.adultlearnersfestival.com along with all the resources and information needed to hold an event. The focus is on sharing your experience with new event organizers in your area.If you are a former event organiser and would like to add your name to the local contact list, please send us your:
